Species: Arabica
Growing areas: Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Murang'a, Embu, Meru, Kiambu, Kericho and Bungoma among others
Varieties: SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, Batian
Altitude: Commonly 1,400–2,100 m
Climate: Cool highland climate with two rainfall seasons
Soil: Deep, well-drained volcanic red soils
Processing: Predominantly fully washed, dried on raised beds
Harvest: Main crop typically October to December; fly crop typically May to July
Grading: E, AA, AB, PB, C, TT, T

Varieties: Hass and Fuerte
Growing areas: Highland production areas across central and parts of western Kenya
Altitude: Commonly 1,400–2,100 m
Climate: Frost-free subtropical highland conditions
Harvest: Hass typically around March to September; Fuerte typically earlier
Export: Reefer sea freight and air freight
